Housing Market Stress

A report done by Zillow recently found that the home buying process is so stressful to potential buyers that “With prices high and inventory tight, 50% of homebuyers said they cried at least once during the process of purchasing a house, with the stress on par with… being fired.” Because of the personal nature of both selecting a home and the financial details surrounding home buying, it can feel extremely isolating to try and venture out into finding a home.

The market does not just affect new homeowners, however. With certain areas suddenly becoming hot spots for newcomers, property values are going up, which raises the property tax and can put a strain on a family’s finances. When an area begins to change, we may start to ask ourselves whether a change of housing is a necessity or an unneeded added stress.

With so many opinions coming from news sources, advisors, friends, and family it can be difficult to focus on our own thoughts and feelings. The Listeners On Call Listener network is full of individuals who know exactly how stressful the home buying and home-owning process can be. Additionally, they are not interested in giving advice to your unique situation, rather, they would like to provide a knowing and neutral confidant that can be an active Listening partner for any worries or frustrations. It can be easier to vent our feelings when we don’t have to explain where they are coming from. Many of our Listeners already have the context needed to understand why these feelings of discomfort can be weighing so heavily on the mind.

If you need to talk, we are here to Listen.
